Hooch was formed in January of 2023 when a few hospitality workers in Salt Lake City decided to go from living the rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle of the bar industry to playing actual rock music. The disparate musical backgrounds of Skylar Johnson (guitar, vocals), Adrian Duran (bass, vocals), and Brian Rubino (drums) coalesced into a unique spin on the classic rock ‘n’ roll formula. The combination of in-your-face volume and vocals, deep pocket grooves, and raucous live show antics led to a near-instant following on a local level. Now entering their second year of existence, Hooch is ringing things in with the release of their first music video, as well as their first EP.
